Get set
Use a wallet on Robinhood Chain (chain ID 4663) with ETH for gas. Fake CSM tokens exist, so check every address against Contracts first.
- ETH. You can use app.cashmere.exchange to bring ETH onto the chain.
- A goat, if you plan to bind one, or a Permit to buy. Goats are Goat Street NFTs. The collection’s address is on Contracts.
- CSM, before your first bind or Permit. Buy it in Base Camp. The toll for binding a goat to Grazing is paid only from your wallet, and a new Barn starts with a small balance. Grazing shows you the toll before you bind.

Get a Barn
Apply on Barn Application, then buy in the founding sale. From one hour after the issuance start, you can buy a new Barn for ETH in Auctions. Once Deed transfers are on, you can also buy a Deed from its holder. Without a Barn, you can still trade CSM or bind goats to Grazing.

Wait for the start
The launch opens the pool. After that, the owner Safe starts issuance, and binds and Permits open one hour later. See what switches on, and when.

Grow your Barn
Buy Stall Permits with CSM, which is taken from the Barn’s balance first. A Barn can have up to 10 stalls, and you can add up to 3 new ones in each 24-hour window. A Shepherd order buys Permits at your limit while you are away. Top up when the balance runs short.

Bind goats
On Grazing, you can bind up to 90 goats at a time. The app splits them into transactions of at most 44 goats. Each goat bound to Grazing pays the herding toll once, in CSM from your wallet. The toll is burned, and you get a Goat Bell for the goat. Binding is for good, so before you bind, empty each goat’s own wallet, collect its Goat Street rewards and deliver any credit it is owed. Bring goats in
A goat’s first Bring In after a paid bind has no toll. In Barn, a goat takes a stall and weighs 3x its Grazing weight, at launch settings. Later Bring Ins pay the toll. Turn Out has no toll at any time.

Every Trek
A Trek lasts 3 days at launch settings. When it ends, anyone can settle it for the cost of gas alone. Then the Season may step, the Gatehouse splits its ETH and the Herd Share streams to all weight. See Treks.

Stay active, then cash out
Press Check in now at least once every 90 days, or anyone can reset your Barn’s unwithdrawn Forage, or your goat’s whole balance. A cash-out pays the Gate fee, which is 2% to 60%. A Barn can cash out some of its stalls, or close. A goat cashes out once and is then burned. See Cash-outs.
