One set of terms

The Cashmere Terms of Use cover every Cashmere site and app (cashmere.exchange, app.cashmere.exchange, these docs and the Mountain site) and the Cashmere and Mountain contracts. “We” is Cashmere.

In short

  • Who may use it. You must be 18 or over and not on a sanctions list. Mountain is also closed to anyone in, resident in or organised under the laws of a Restricted Place: the United States and its territories; Canada; the EU and EEA; the UK; Russia; Belarus; Bosnia and Herzegovina; mainland China; Hong Kong; Singapore; Malaysia; Myanmar; Afghanistan; Bangladesh; Nepal; Uzbekistan; Syria; Lebanon; Yemen; Iraq; Qatar; Algeria; Egypt; Morocco; Tunisia; Libya; Sudan; South Sudan; Somalia; the Central African Republic; Mali; Burkina Faso; Namibia; Venezuela; Haiti; Jamaica; the Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine; sanctioned places (Cuba, Iran, North Korea and any other place under comprehensive sanctions); and any other place where a token sale like this one, or holding or trading crypto-assets, is banned or needs a licence we do not have. A US person is restricted wherever they are. Do not use a VPN or a proxy to get around these limits.
  • What the services are. Interfaces to contracts. They hold none of your assets, open no account for you, and cannot move what is in your wallet. What a transaction does is decided by the contracts on chain. They are under active development and carry significant risk.
  • No offer and no advice. Nothing in the sites, the docs, the posts or the chat is an offer, a request to buy or sell, or financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Plans are not promises.
  • Your wallet, your transactions. You keep your keys and your devices safe, you check every transaction before you sign it, and you pay its gas, even when it fails. Use only the official CSM address published on the site.
  • A Barn. A Barn Deed is an NFT that lets you use the Barn features as coded. It is not a share, a loan, a deposit or a membership, and not a right to anything from us. Nothing promises any amount of CSM, any price, or that you can sell.
  • What cannot be undone. Binding a goat is final, and its Goat Bell cannot be moved. Apart from the public-auction differences, nothing you pay in Mountain comes back to you: not Barn lots, Stall Permits, herding tolls, Salt or Gate fees.
  • Points. Points, rankings and multipliers have no money value, can change or reset, and are not a right to anything.
  • Nothing has a promised value. CSM, Barns, Goat Street NFTs, the earlier Cashmere NFTs on Ethereum and Optimism, points, and every reward and campaign can fall to zero at any time. None of them promises anything.
  • Fees and taxes. The sites charge no fee of their own. The contracts charge what their code sets, for example sale prices, the trading tax, the Deed royalty and the Gate fee. Your taxes are yours to work out and report.
  • Access. We may block places, wallets or networks from the sites. That does not change what you hold on chain, and you can still use the contracts directly.
  • “As is” and liability. Everything is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we accept no liability, and our total liability is zero.
  • Disputes. Contact us first at [email protected]; we try to settle within 30 days. After that, disputes go to binding arbitration, and you give up the right to a class action. The terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Cashmere is incorporated.
